On Saturday, December 5th, members of the Costume Designer’s Guild gathered for their third annual CDG Holiday Party. Under a canopy of white lights, the mood was festive. Scattered crystals, glittering disco balls, and candlelight punctuated the silvery theme, and a beautiful abstract tree was central. Almost as though they had been costumed, the crowd primarily wore blacks and metallics, with a few hits of vibrant color. They sipped champagne and nibbled on appetizers. The caviar quesadillas and asparagus prosciutto bundles were particularly appreciated. Under The Canapé catered the event.
Committee chair Bonnie Nipar notes, “The CDG Holiday Party kicks off the season, providing an occasion to embrace our friendships and the spirit of the holidays. Also, the accompanying toy drive was also a great success.”
Following an economically difficult season, many labor union children will benefit from the generosity of the CDG’s members and guests. There are so few opportunities during the year to celebrate together; the holiday party offers a wonderful evening when CDG solidarity also promotes an important cause.
