In the new ABC drama, Mireille Enos plays Alice Vaughan, the top private investigator in Los Angeles. Peter Krause plays her fiancé, Benjamin Jones, who cons her out of millions. The betrayal launches her plan to get even–and a high-stakes game of cat and mouse.
To give Enos her signature swagger, Costume Designer Peggy Schnitzer created a tonal wardrobe full of classic coats and dagger-sharp heels. A signature look is a black cashmere, knee-length Gucci coat with a sash belt, accessorized with taupe pointed-toe, ankle-strap heels by Gianvito Rossi.
“Mireille, though quite petite in real life, appears powerful and sexy onscreen–larger than life, as it were,” Schnitzer said. “I wanted a coat that was strong and professional that still kept the character sexy, sleek and most importantly, feminine. This is one of the signature coats for the season. The second is a vintage, caramel leather trench by Ralph Lauren,” she said. “I always like a lighter heel with all black…to create a long, beautiful leg.”
The Catch premieres on ABC on Thursday, 10 p.m. / 9 Central.
