19th CDGA Submission Entry Notice Update
19th CDGA SUBMISSION ENTRIES OPEN ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3O, 2016. YOU CAN NOW ENTER/SUBMIT DIRECTLY FROM THE CDG WEBSITE.
The Chairs of the Awards Balloting Committee have over the last few years sought to improve the voting process into a clearer and simpler one for the voting membership. Submission guidelines, submitting parties, and categories have been refined to create clarity and consistency for each category within film, television, and commercials, which will now include expanded shorter formatted projects beyond commercials alone. We hope these improvements assist you in your participation as a voting member.
With the hundreds of film releases, television shows, and countless commercials each year, we cannot stress enough the importance of self-participation by submitting your projects on the Submission Form. The committee spends a tremendous amount of time and effort earnestly gathering eligible projects in film, television, and commercials for the nomination ballot, as a courtesy only, not a requirement. Therefore, your participation is key in presenting a thorough body of annual work worthy of consideration for a nomination.
Submitting Parties: Who May Submit:
Self-submissions are preferred. We will also accept submissions from: studio awards dept., television networks, producers, PR firms, and agents. These are the only parties eligible to submit an entry or entries.
Streamline the Process: This year, the self-submitting member or authorized parties can enter and post the member’s Submission Entry form directly on the CDG website, making it a more legible document for the committee to review.
Short Form Design Category: The former Commercial category has been renamed the Short Form Design category, and has expanded to now encompass any project less than 15 minutes in length: music video, webisode, short film, commercial, or video game.
Period and Sci-Fi/Fantasy: The Period and Sci-Fi/Fantasy category has been split into their own respective television categories.
Made for TV Movie, Mini-Series, or Special: Made for TV movie, mini-series, or special category will now be folded into one of the three: Contemporary, Period, or Sci-Fi/Fantasy category.
Please review the changes in the CDGA Rules & Guideline Policy Changes document. We hope the improvements we created last year will continue to simplify the process of submission for consideration in the upcoming 19th Costume Designers Guild Awards.
