The Eddie Marks Costume
Scholarship Fund
The Costume Designers Guild, Local 892, and the Motion Picture Costumers, Local 705, are collaborating with the Eddie Marks Costume Scholarship. This scholarship is open to members of both 892 and 705 who wish to pursue studies in any areas of costume education. It aims to inspire and empower the next generation through collaboration and dedication.
Eddie Marks was perhaps our industry’s greatest unsung collaborator of the past three decades. As president of Western Costume, Marks was an employer, mentor, unwavering supporter, and dear friend to many in the costume community. He was as invaluable to our members as the costumes he rented.
“He was there. He was there for all of us all the time.”
-Lisa Lovaas, costume designer
“Eddie knew the past, the present, and the future and he was always part of our stories.”
–Julie Weiss, costume designer
“Eddie Marks was my hero. If you needed it done, you went to Eddie and it got done. He was the greatest.”
–Jeffrey Kurland, costume designer
